CBeebies has cast Tom Holland for an upcoming episode of Bedtime Stories. The actor will read the book Superworm, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. The narrative follows a worm who requires rescue from a character called Wizard Lizard.
The episode is scheduled to broadcast on CBeebies on Friday 24 July at 6.50pm. The BBC will also make the episode available for streaming via BBC iPlayer. Tom Holland currently stars as the lead character in the film Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The appearance follows previous bookings of actors from superhero franchises. Past readers for the series include Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Jason Momoa. These bookings align with the presence of high profile film talent within the CBeebies programming block.
The BBC currently hosts the full library of ten Spider-Man films on BBC iPlayer. This availability coincides with the scheduling of the Bedtime Stories episode. The broadcast slot for the program is fixed at 6.50pm on the linear channel.
