BBC One and BBC iPlayer have commissioned a one-off celebrity special of Gladiators. The episode features four contestants: AJ Odudu, Chris Ramsey, George Clarke, and Sara Pascoe. These participants will compete in events including Duel, Unleash, and Powerball, concluding with the Eliminator.
The 60-minute special is produced by Hungry Bear Media and MGM Alternative UK, a division of Amazon MGM Studios. Bradley Walsh and Barney Walsh return as hosts for the production. BBC Head of Entertainment Commissioning Kalpna Patel-Knight commissioned the episode, with Clodagh O'Donoghue and Leanne Witcoop serving as commissioning editors.
Executive production is handled by Dan Baldwin, Lou Brown, and Reshmi Bajnath for Hungry Bear, alongside Dom Bird for MGM Alternative UK. The contestants will compete against the regular Gladiators in the Sheffield arena.
The format is based on the original American series created by Johnny C. Ferraro and Dan Carr. The special is scheduled for release later this year.
