BBC One and BBC iPlayer are airing the 21st series of Celebrity MasterChef. Produced by Shine TV, the competition format consists of five weeks of challenges involving contestants from the music, drama, comedy, and sport sectors. The series concludes with a single winner who receives the Celebrity MasterChef trophy.
The week three cohort includes Paralympic paratriathlete Lauren Steadman. Steadman has stated that her cooking experience began at boarding school where students produced one meal per week for the class. She identifies as an intuitive cook who avoids the use of measurements and improvises during the cooking process. Her culinary influences include British recipes learned from her grandparents and various international cuisines, including Kurdish, Greek, Iraqi, Colombian, and Venezuelan dishes.
The competition requires contestants to undergo critical analysis of their food by the judging panel. Participants are selected from a range of professional backgrounds, including authors, entertainers, and presenters. The production follows the established format of the MasterChef brand, transitioning celebrities from their professional fields into a competitive kitchen environment.
This series marks the 21st iteration of the celebrity spin off for the BBC.
