BBC Sport NI has signed a three-year broadcast agreement with the Irish FA and the Northern Ireland Football League (NIFL). The contract covers international and domestic football across television, radio, online platforms and BBC iPlayer.
The deal includes 30 live streams of the Boyle Sports Premiership. BBC Sport NI will broadcast the Clearer Water Irish Cup Final and the BetMcLean Cup Final live on television and BBC iPlayer. The broadcaster will also stream matches from the fifth round of the Irish Cup through to the final. Additional deliverables include digital highlights and clips from NIFL and Irish Cup fixtures across all BBC platforms.
Audio coverage of the Boyle Sports Premiership will continue on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Sounds. The agreement also maintains live coverage of Northern Ireland senior women's international matches. Neil Brittain, Executive Editor at BBC Sport NI, stated that the agreement provides coverage of national teams and domestic league and cup competitions. Steven Mills, NIFL Chief Operations Officer, confirmed the contract extension and noted the concurrent operation of NIFL TV.
This agreement follows a separate confirmation that BBC Sport NI will broadcast every Northern Ireland senior men's international fixture until June 2028. The current domestic and women's international rights deal runs for three years.
