BBC ALBA and BBC Sport have secured a package of 38 live Serie A matches for the 2026/27 season. The agreement divides the live output equally between the two entities. BBC ALBA will broadcast 19 live matches featuring Gaelic and English co-commentary. BBC Sport will stream an additional 19 live matches exclusively on BBC iPlayer with English commentary. All matches aired on the linear BBC ALBA channel will also be available via the streaming platform.

Coverage begins on Sunday 23 August 2026 with the match between Atalanta and Sassuolo, scheduled for a 7.45pm kick-off. The production of analysis, reports, and feature content for BBC ALBA is a partnership between the network's sports team, Sunset+Vine, and BBC Sport. The rights package includes digital clips for social media use. This follows a previous agreement BBC ALBA held during the second half of the prior season to air matches featuring Scottish internationals.

The coverage includes players such as Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour at Napoli, Lewis Ferguson at Bologna, and Josh Doig at Sassuolo. It also covers England internationals John Stones and Djed Spence following their transfers to Inter Milan. Margaret Cameron, Director of Content at MG ALBA, confirmed the deal provides free-to-air access to the league in Gaelic. BBC Sport will continue producing supplementary content, following a documentary on Napoli players released last season for BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer.

The live rights for the 2026/27 season are shared between BBC ALBA, BBC Sport, TNT, and DAZN. The BBC Sport European football portfolio also contains clips from Bundesliga and La Liga.
