BBC Scotland has commissioned four new factual series from independent production companies covering true crime, terrorism, and folklore. The slate includes Terror at the Terminal, a two part documentary produced by Firecrest Films. This series focuses on the June 2007 attacks targeting London and Glasgow Airport using CCTV and first hand testimony.

Finestripe Productions will produce Tommy Sheridan: Caught in the Headlines. The two part series features interviews with Tommy Sheridan and Gail Sheridan to document his career as a socialist MSP and subsequent legal cases. Firecrest Films also returns with a fourth series of Murder Case. This four part commission examines the death of Cameron Logan, the disappearance of Suzanne Pilley, and the cold case of Marion Hodge.

The final commission is Mythland, a six part series produced by Rogan Productions. The programme follows paranormal psychologist Evelyn Hollow and comedian Zara Gladman as they investigate folklore across the Isle of Skye and the Scottish Borders. Louise Thornton, Head of Commissioning at BBC Scotland, stated that the slate demonstrates the breadth of factual storytelling currently produced in Scotland.

The Firecrest Films production Murder Case is a returning series for the network.
