BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer have commissioned three new cases for the crime documentary series Murder Case. The series is produced by Firecrest Films. The new episodes are scheduled for broadcast later this year and into early 2027.

The first installment, titled Fire in Suburbia, is a two part 60 minute series. It examines the 2017 arson attack and murder of 23 year old Cameron Logan at his family home in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire. The production features testimony from survivor Rebecca Williams and details the police investigation into a known arsonist and the role of the victim's brother, Blair Logan.

A single 60 minute episode titled A Fatal Affair covers the 2010 disappearance of bookkeeper Suzanne Pilley in Edinburgh. The film documents the discovery of an affair between Pilley and colleague David Gilroy, the subsequent forensic search of an office basement, and the eventual recovery of the body in the forests of Argyll.

The final 60 minute episode, The Day My Mother Vanished, focuses on the 1984 disappearance of 34 year old Marion Hodge. The production tracks the case from the initial claims made by her husband, William Hodge, to the 2023 reopening of the investigation using modern policing techniques. The episode includes contributions from the sisters of Marion Hodge.

The series consists of a total of four hours of programming across the three cases. BBC Scotland maintains the commissioning lead for the production. Firecrest Films handles the production of the documentary content. The episodes will be available on both linear broadcast and the BBC iPlayer streaming platform.
