Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of the social experiment Handcuffed. The format pairs strangers with opposing beliefs and lifestyles who are handcuffed together for the duration of the competition. 72 Films, a Fremantle company, returns as the production house for the new series.

The first series recorded over 2 million views for its opening episode on streaming. The premiere achieved a 24.3 percent share among the 16 to 34 age demographic. This figure represents a 140 percent increase over the average for that specific time slot. The first series concluded with contestants Rob and Charlie winning a combined prize of 100,000 pounds.

The new series, titled Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing, consists of six 60 minute episodes. Tim Hancock serves as the commissioning editor for Channel 4. The production team includes executive producers David Glover, Tim Whitwell, and Tom Clarke. Ben Allen is the series director, while Jake Smith is the series producer. Sealy is the line producer and Alex Nicholson is the production executive.

The format focuses on the survival of pairs with conflicting habits and lifestyles. Tom Clarke confirmed that the series targets demographics that typically avoid traditional television viewing. The production remains a collaboration between Channel 4 and 72 Films. The first series of the show featured a prize fund of 100,000 pounds for the winning pair.
