The BBC has commissioned a Christmas special of the detective series Ludwig featuring Sir David Suchet. The one hour episode casts Suchet as a murder suspect. The production is set in Yorkshire at a remote Christmas themed hotel where a blackout and blizzard create a locked room mystery.
The special features David Mitchell and Anna Maxwell Martin in their regular roles. The guest cast includes Jason Flemyng, Joe Wilkinson, Cathy Tyson, Alexandra Roach, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Rebekah Staton, Claire Price, Ariella Glaser, and George Rainsford. David Mitchell and Sir David Suchet both confirmed their participation in the project.
The series is created and written by Mark Brotherhood. It is produced by Big Talk Studios, a subsidiary of ITV Studios, in collaboration with That Mitchell and Webb Company. The production is a co-production between the BBC, BritBox, and ZDF.
The announcement follows the broadcast of series two on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Series three of the production is currently in production. Ludwig is an International Emmy Award winning series.
