Channel 4 will premiere Apocalypse on 13 September at 21:00, airing live and on the network streaming platform. The survival series places fourteen participants from the UK and Australia in an abandoned town without electricity, running water, or food supplies. The contestants are divided into two separate groups, designated as Eastside and Westside, who remain unaware of each other's presence at the start of the production.

The cast consists of a cross section of professionals, including a paramedic, a psychologist, a mechanic, a farmer, a chef, and a social media influencer. Participants must scavenge and recycle materials from the town to survive for a period of 28 days. Conflict arises between the two camps after the Eastside group enters and loots the town's sole supermarket.

Confirmed participants include Steven McKell, a content creator from Lincoln with 4.6 million TikTok followers, and Kiera Madison, a psychologist from New South Wales. The cast also features Bertie Watkins, a London based theatre director, and Kyra Muzvaba, a student nurse from Northamptonshire. Louise Baker, a mechanic from Birmingham, is also among the fourteen survivors.

The production requires participants to revert to primitive instincts and cooperate to secure limited resources. The series focuses on the interaction between the rival camps as they compete for control of the abandoned urban environment. The show begins its broadcast run on Sunday 13 September.
