BBC iPlayer will host In Our Time as a video podcast starting Thursday 17 September. The program, hosted by Misha Glenny, will maintain its existing audio distribution on BBC Radio 4, BBC Sounds, and global podcast platforms. This transition to a multi-platform format includes the introduction of weekly audio-only archive editions on BBC Sounds, which Glenny selects and introduces.

Upcoming episodes in the new series include a discussion on Thomas More's Utopia, an examination of particle accelerators and their use in medicine and archaeology, and a live recording from the Crossed Wires Festival in Sheffield regarding the film Casablanca. Mohit Bakaya, Controller of BBC Radio 4, confirmed the video podcast will operate alongside the established audio format. Glenny stated that the video format provides a different way for audiences to experience the conversations.

The program is a BBC Studios production for BBC Radio 4. It currently ranks as one of the most listened to on demand programs for the BBC in the UK and internationally. Data from BBC Sounds shows the podcast is among the most popular titles for listeners under the age of 35. The program has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 since 1998.
