Channel 4 has commenced the seventeenth series of The Great British Bake Off with a new cohort of 12 contestants. The series features Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding as hosts, while the judging panel consists of Paul Hollywood and Nigella Lawson.
The contestant list includes Clara, a marketing student from Portugal, and Connie, an NHS Hospital Discharge Lead from London. Danni, an HGV Service Centre Administrator based in Dorset, joins the competition alongside Gabe, a creative from the West Midlands. These participants enter the tent to compete in a series of baking challenges evaluated by the judging pair.
The production retains its established format of eliminating bakers over several weeks. Contestants such as Clara focus on Portuguese classics and colourful designs, while Connie utilises ingredients like rum and cinnamon. Danni incorporates foraged elements including magnolia and chestnut into bakes, and Gabe specialises in savoury meat dishes and meringue.
The series is broadcast on Channel 4.
