A Comedy Thing, Channel 4's digital comedy channel, has confirmed its first branded partnership with the men's health charity Movember.
The episode brings comedians Vittorio Angelone, Finlay Christie and Ed Night back to the format, where they must identify the genuine moustache from a lineup of convincing imposters. This special edition aligns directly with Movember's annual November campaign, which raises funds for mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer research. The partnership leverages the channel's specific audience demographics, with 60 per cent of its YouTube viewers being male and 58 per cent under the age of 35, targeting a key demographic ahead of the charity's key fundraising period.
Produced by Strong Watch Studios, the project was commissioned by Hanzla MacDonald and Charlie Hyland, the digital commissioning editor for A Comedy Thing. This commission represents the channel's initial foray into branded content, a move that Thom Gulseven, co-founder of Strong Watch Studios, described as a natural fit given the format's focus on facial hair. The special episode will be available exclusively on digital platforms, continuing the channel's expansion beyond traditional broadcast schedules.
