Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of Love Is In The Blood for its digital platform Channel 4.0. The order follows the first season's recognition at the 2026 Broadcast Digital Awards and the TellyCast Digital Video Awards, where it took the Best Content Partnership and Best Branded Content titles respectively.

The series pairs single individuals for blind dates behind dividers, with one participant donating blood for the first time while the other is an existing donor. Adeola Patronne, who created the format and serves as the on-screen matchmaker, facilitates conversation through a series of questions ranging from quick-fire preferences to deeper inquiries about core values. If the pair decides not to meet face-to-face, they part without ever seeing each other. The format uses the romantic tension of the date to encourage participation in blood donation, a cause that NHS Blood and Transplant says requires 140,000 new donors annually to replace those who age out of eligibility.

Produced by Word On The Curb, the show is a partnership between Channel 4 and NHSBT. Ndubuisi Uchea, CEO of Word On The Curb, has produced the first series. The format specifically targets younger audiences to address a demographic gap in the donor pool, which includes a specific need for 16,000 additional donors of Black heritage to meet demand for patients with sickle cell disease.
