Five socially responsible businesses will launch their television advertising campaigns this Sunday following their selection as winners of the second Channel 4 Sales B Corp competition. The adverts for SURI, Holy Moly Dips Ltd, Klyk, Faith In Nature and TOTM will premiere in a coordinated ad-break takeover during the evening broadcast of The Great Celebrity Pottery Throw Down. This initial placement is followed by bespoke placements on Channel 4's streaming platform, designed to help each brand reach its specific target audience.
The takeover includes a voiceover explaining that the B Corp logo indicates a business has met verified social and environmental standards. Ros Holley, Director of Marketing and Communications at B Lab UK, noted that the participants range from oral care and period products to food, nature and technology. The competition was judged by a panel comprising representatives from Channel 4 Sales, B Lab UK, the Advertising Association, Sonder, The Media Leader, 4Creative and Factory Studios. The initiative highlights the diversity of the UK B Corp community while demonstrating how purpose-driven enterprises operate with positive impact at their core.
The winning brands have secured a share of a £600,000 prize pot consisting of Channel 4 advertising airtime. Tom Patterson, Sustainability Lead at Channel 4 Sales, stated that the debut provides a showcase for how purpose can drive business forward. The individual adverts will continue to run on the network's on-demand service after their live television premiere. This competition marks the second edition of the partnership between Channel 4 Sales and B Lab UK, which supports businesses in amplifying their environmental and social commitments through broadcast media.
