A New Life in the Sun: Where Are They Now? had an episode air on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 6:00pm. Series 8, Episode 15 titled "Episode 15" was broadcast on Channel 4.
The camera returns to the familiar landscapes of southern Europe, tracking the long-term consequences of a single, decisive leap across the Channel. These are not holiday snapshots, but the slow, grinding reality of building a life on foreign soil, where the sun is reliable but the bureaucracy is not. The series moves away from the initial romance of the dream to face the mundane, often painful, mechanics of integration. It asks who is left, who has returned, and what was actually required to make the switch stick. The answer is rarely a postcard. It is a ledger of compromises, written in a language no one quite mastered, in a country that never fully opened its doors.
