Break Clause had an episode air on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Series 1, Episode 1 titled "August" was broadcast on Channel 4.
The romance has ended, but the lease has not. Ben and Lil remain trapped in a six-month contract, sharing a domestic space that no longer functions as a home. The separation is purely emotional, not logistical. They are stuck in the middle of a financial commitment that outlasts their feelings, forced to navigate the awkward mechanics of living together as estranged parties. The walls of the flat become a prison of their own making, defined by the terms of an agreement that ignores the reality of their split. The tenancy continues, indifferent to the break, locking them in a state of suspended animation until the final month arrives.
